Waterford Crystal Vases – Handcrafted by Skilled Irish Artisans
Irish glass artisans have patiently crafted intricate designs into their crystal art pieces, thus living up to founders George and William Penrose’s 1783 promise to make Waterford crystal “as fine a quality as any in Europe. . . in the most elegant style.” This attention to detail is evident in Waterford Crystal vases.
Waterford Crystal Rose Bowls
Rose bowls are perfect for floating candles, cut flowers or simply as a stand-alone piece. Placing crystal rose bowls near mirrors reflects a myriad of rainbows and sparkling lights throughout the room.
A footed Waterford Cashel vase combines the elegance and beauty of a heritage crystal pattern with a more contemporary vase to create a functional design suitable for any décor. It provides an ideal choice for holding cut flowers or an arrangement of more permanent silk floral displays.
Waterford Jim O’Leary Fanlight Vase
Waterford Crystal design director celebrated his 50th anniversary with Waterford Crystal in 2010. Drawing from 18th-century Georgian architecture of Dublin, Ireland, O’Leary chose the Fanlight over the Dublin Doors of Merrion Square as inspiration the Jim O’Leary Fanlight Vase.
The original fanlight allowed inside lighting to flow out onto the street to light the way of sojourners arriving home and to welcome guests. This type of elegance and warmth remains a motif in Waterford Crystal design from its earliest days through modern statements of grace and courtesy.
O’Leary’s fanlight vase stands 9” tall and is suitable for larger displays of cut flowers, hospitality tables or as a crystal centerpiece for larger tables. Its distinctive cut crystal fan repeats around the top of the vase to radiate light throughout a room.
Another design by artist Jim O’Leary is the Waterford Crystal Araglin footed bud vase. This delightful 9” crystal bud vase features a distinctive tulip shape with diamond cuts around the bulb and vertical wedge cuts along its slender neck. This sparkling crystal design provides a beautiful resting place for that one perfect bloom – or two – or none at all.
Gaining its inspiration from a prima ballerina’s delicate diamond tiara, a Waterford Crystal Giselle stem vase is as graceful and beautiful as its name implies. Freshly cut stems of flowers or greenery remain the focal point in this slender, delicate stem vase.
